Approaching his works through storytelling, Faris’s use of caricatured figures often draws attention to the artificiality of his painting's narratives. The figures seemingly exist in an abject reality ruled by its own logic and boundaries appropriated form various fictional novels and media such as old cartoon shows. His sporadic painting process seamlessly blend with meta-narratives to bring forward the flux of interplay between composition and pictorial space. Rendering his painting process a form of language, and his paintings the story.
